The always-controversial comedian George Carlin passed away Sunday afternoon from heart failure. The comedian was 71 and had a history of heart problems, including a heart attack at the age of 41.

He was known for using profanity, absurdity and sarcasm to point out the silliness of human life. He performed as recently as last weekend in Las Vegas. He will be remembered as a comedian who was never afraid to break down barriers and will be missed by many.
